Google 2nd Private Subsea Cable - Talk Some Techy

Google is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, which includes online advertising technologies which include Google Adsense, Google Adwords, and many other platforms, cloud computing called Google Drive, the search engine which is more popular in today's world for searching any type of article, hardware, and software.

Google companies rapid their growth since their establishment has triggered a bulk of products such as the Google search engine, google calendar, google storage or cloud storage, etc and etc.

Then Google made its first private subsea cable from Chile to Los Angeles named in honor of Marie Curie.

Now, recently Google has announced to continue to invest in subsea cable. This subsea cable will be from Virginia bridge in the United States to French Atlantic coast. This will be the first-ever Transatlantic cable built by a Non-Telecom company.

This cable has been named DUNANT.

Fact is this that this is Google’s 12^th subsea cable investment but the 2^nd private one. The company had started by investing in the construction of Unity in the tear 2008 which was linked between the US and Japan.

Google Cloud Submarine Cable Investments

Google cloud's well-provisioned global network is comprised of hundreds of thousands of miles of Fiber Optic cable and seven submarine cable investments.

The DUNANT will be operational till the year 2020.

The project DUNANT is contracted by TE Subcom. This project will be of 4,000-mile four-fiber pair system. According to Google's recent announcements, it has other projects coming soon such as HAVFRUE, HK-G, and JGS-A.

TE Subcom president Sanjay Chowbey said, " we are proud to be working with Google on this important cable system and to be increasing the performance for all ". he further continues by saying that DUNANT cable will be made by using Subcom's industry-leading A-1 cable family, which is optimized with high DCR.
